Jason Hartschuh has lived in Crawford County all his life, on the family’s dairy and grain farm located on the northern edge of the county in Lykens Township. He still works on the farm with his parents and brothers today. Together they work to adapt new technology and increase production. In 2011 he graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in agriculture, having majored in Animal Sciences with a minor in Agricultural Production. In 2014 he received a Master's Degree from The Ohio State University in Plant Health Management. Many of the courses he took in college made him well rounded in agricultural knowledge ranging from crop and livestock production to agricultural engineering and business management. Since college he has traveled out west working on a harvest crew and worked one several local farms. Along with farming Jason is active as a Volunteer Fireman on the Lykens Volunteer Fire Department. He also is involved in the county Farm Bureau program. Please feel free to stop in or call Jason with any questions you may have. He is always looking for way to meet the needs of the community, through new programs and the continuation of some current programs.
