Marestail
Marestail continues to be a problem in no-till soybean fields throughout Ohio. This weed can require almost a full year to complete its life cycle, and is considered to be both a winter and summer annual. Two broad periods of emergence result in plant populations that become problematic in soybeans. Plants that emerge in late summer and fall will overwinter as rosettes (plants with elongated stems in fall do not survive winter), and these will be present at the time of crop planting.
