4-H Youth Development

Crawford County 4-H has a variety of youth development opportunities for today's youth. 

  • Projects - Over 200 covering a range of topics.  Check out the new woodworking, electricity, gardening projects as well as the many others we have to offer.
  • Crawford County Junior Fair -  4-H members have the opportunity to exhibit their project knowledge.
  • 4-H Camp -  4-H members have the opportunity to travel to Kelleys Island for four days of fun and friendship. 
  • Cloverbuds - Unique learning setting for ages 5-8 years. Focuses on non-competitive activities that build self-confidence and esteem. 
  • Demonstrations and Speeches - Do a speech by yourself or in a pair. Share your knowledge with others. 
  • 4-H in the Classroom - Learn more about chickens, water, plants, history, breads and space with the curriculum 4-H has to offer.

Mission of the Ohio 4-H Program

4-H youth development education creates positive environments for diverse youth and adults to reach their fullest potential as capable, competent, caring and contributing citizens.  In support of this mission we will:

  • provide formal and non-formal community focused experiential learning;

  • develop skills and values that benefit youth throughout life;

  • enhance career exploration and decision making;

  • foster leadership and volunteerism in youth and adults;

  • build internal and external partnerships for programming and funding;

  • strengthen families and communities;

  • apply research-based knowledge and land grant university resources.
